Notice is hereby given that the City Manager submitted the proposed Fiscal Year 2026-2027 Budget to the Roanoke Rapids City Council during their May 19, 2026, Regular City Council Meeting. A Public Hearing for the proposed budget will be held by the City Council during its Regular Meeting on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at 5:30 p.m., in the Lloyd Andrews City Meeting Hall, 700 Jackson Street, Roanoke Rapids, NC. Citizens may attend and are invited to offer written or oral comments. Changes in the revenue and expenditure estimates may occur prior to the public hearing.
The City of Roanoke Rapids will provide reasonable accommodations for any disabled person(s) wishing to attend. To make this request, contact the City Clerk’s Office at least 3 days prior to the meeting by calling 252-533-2840.
This proposed FY 2026-2027 Budget may be inspected or purchased at J. Reuben Daniel City Hall, 1040 Roanoke Ave., Roanoke Rapids, NC, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., or viewed online at www.roanokerapidsnc.gov.

The J. Reuben Daniel City Hall & Police Station is open to the public. City Hall houses the Police Department, Planning & Development Department, Finance & Tax/Revenue Collections Department, Human Resources, and the City Manager's Office. The City encourages visitors, if possible, to schedule an appointment prior to coming into City Hall.
Members of the public continue to have the option to conduct business with the City of Roanoke Rapids by phone at (252) 533-2800 or online at www.roanokerapidsnc.com. Examples of services that can be conducted online include permit applications (such as building, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing permits); employment applications; and departmental information.
The Magistrate’s office is open for business with public access at the back of the building.

CITY RECYCLING CONTAINER SITES
The City of Roanoke Rapids has two recycling container sites. One is at the Public Works facility located at 1313 Hinson Street and the other is located behind TJ Davis Recreation Center next to the tennis courts, 500 E. 6th Street. The public will have 24-hour access to these facilities for combined recyclable materials.
